Latest reports reveal that the fourth major U.S. bank to take advantage of a government guarantee Bank of America gained $9 billion in the bond market on Monday this week. Thus the total amount of bonds that fall under the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp's Liquidity Guarantee program make up $26.25 billion. Etelcharge.com has announced today that it has abandoned its proposed acquisition of PaymentOne, reports Market Wire. "Given the general economic downturn and the increased risk posed to the success of this acquisition, we have determined the PaymentOne deal is too risky to complete," said Rob Howe, Chairman and CEO of Etelcharge.com. According to BBC news HSBC has announced a great job cuts worldwide, so in sole UK this banking giant will lay off 500 employees. The only reason for such considerable changes was "a review of the business and current economic conditions". Earlier in September HSBC has announced 1,600 job cut. HSBC said the latest job cuts represented less than 1% of its 58,000 UK workforce.
